Day 1:
Meet Greet and Get Coffee
Introduction to Equine Anatomy: Learn the key muscles, discover how they work within your horse.
Postural and Behavioural Signs: Hidden signs your horse is experiencing muscular dysfunction or discomfort.
Subtle Lameness in Motion: Learn how to spot the smallest signs of compensation and lameness in motion, and what these mean for how your horse is feeling in their bodies.
How You Can Help: Learn the huge range of benefits that massage can have to your horse and how you can help through learning massage.
Get Hands On: You’ll be guided through assessing the horse’s body for hidden pain and tension. Begin learning a wide range of message techniques and when we apply each one.
Day 2:
Get Coffee and Recap: Grab a coffee and we will recap yesterday’s massage techniques.
Putting It All Together: Taking your new assessment and massage skills to the test, we will work with the NAC herd to consolidate your new learning from start to finish through a massage routine.
A New Routine: Learn how to use massage for warm up, cool down and to keep muscle pain at bay. Discover how to integrate massage into your horse’s life, a small change to your day-to-day makes a huge difference to your horse.
Exercise For Health: A happy horse is more than just one who can move freely and comfortably through the tasks we ask of them. Learning how to use exercise to benefit your horse’s body is a key element of good training. Just ‘doing pole work’ isn’t enough, we have to get the right set up, the right posture and navigate the exercise in a way that promotes relaxation and correct movement – to finish off the weekend of learning we will guide you and the horses through key exercises and how to get the horse moving through them ‘just right’.
